Chapter 1

He ran as fast as his legs could carry him. He was breathless but he couldn’t stop. If he stopped it would all be over. His lungs felt like they were going to explode but still he kept on running…as his mind was filled with only one thought.

It had been six months since they had started talking. They had met on the internet by chance and had become close friends. Only now had he realised that he loved her.

“You are strange Ken-kun.” She once wrote.

“Why?”

Well…we have now been talking for about three months and you are still talking to me.

That’s not strange! I just like talking to you…you are different.

Yeah I was told ;p so how are things going with your girlfriend?

Ahh not bad…although she is kinda getting on my nerves you know…

Nande? (Why?)

It’s just that she is way too clingy!! What should I do?

Ken-kun…it’s your fourth girlfriend in the three months that I have known you…something tells me you are some sort of playboy…

As soon as he read the word playboy he smiled one of his charming smiles and wrote;

Ahh no, no I just love women too much! You guys are God’s best creation and who better to appreciate you than a hot blooded guy? :D

She couldn’t control her laughter…before she met him on the internet seldom did she smile. He was a blessing to her however was he enough to change her mind?

Lol yeah right…your charms are not going to work on me you know…;p

Oh come on Mia-chan…

They carried on for hours at a time talking on the computer. For her it was the only time that she could chat happily with a friend.

At school she had no friends because she was known as the girl whose father was a criminal. Her father was in jail because he had swindled a couple of companies and was also in the drug trafficking business. It was a lot of pressure on a seventeen year old girl. Her mother was no help because she worked as a hostess in a night club so she was always alone.

One time she was alone on the roof of her school when she heard someone was coming up. She immediately hid behind a wall and widened her eyes when she saw him. It was Jun Asou, her crush ever since she entered high school. He was with another girl.

He pulled her close and gently whispered into her ear, “I love you but I cannot see you anymore. It’s too painful.”

The girl looked into his eyes and said, “Why? I am not going to hurt you.”

Jun did not expect that reply…his mind started thinking of a possible answer to get himself out of this uncomfortable situation. He looked over the girl’s shoulder, past her long slightly curled hair and saw her.

He saw a wide eyed girl with shoulder length straight hair looking at him. Suddenly an idea popped in to his head.

“It’s because of her.”
